Recent accomplishments of Ted's Students.


Congratulations to Molly Holbert, & Andrew Forjan

Harrisburg, PA – Blue Ridge Country Club hosted 63 players on Thursday, June 18 for the first of four Philadelphia Section Junior PGA Championship – Local Qualifiers.  The low third and ties in the Boys 13-18 Division and 12 & Under Division (Boys & Girls) are trying to qualify for a spot in the Philadelphia Section Junior PGA Championship on Monday, July 13 at Blue Bell Country Club (Boys 13-18 Qualifier) and Applecross Country Club (Girls 13-18 and 12 & Under Qualifier).  The low boy and girl will then advance on to the 40th Junior PGA Championship at Miramont Country Club (Bryan, TX) on August 3-6.  During the qualifier, most junior golfers experienced a cloudy and rainy day for golf on the par 72, 6,365/5,920/5,420 layout.William Mirams (Stroudsburg, PA) carded the low round of the tournament in the Boys 13-15 Division with an 18-hole score of 71 (-1).  Mirams had 5 birdies on his afternoon including a birdie on the last hole to finish 1-shot ahead of the then clubhouse leader, Benjamin Pochet (Royersford, PA).  Wrapping up the division in 3rdplace was Billy Civitella (Berwyn, PA) with a 74 (+2). 
 
Robert Falconer (E) had the low round in the Boys 16-18 Division with an even par round of 72.  Falconer carded 4 birdies on his round including two “2’s” on his scorecard.  Andrew Forjan (York, PA) finished one shot off the pace with a round of 73 (+1) to take 2nd place honors.  In a tie for 3rd place at 75 (+3) were Ross Pilliod (Sinking Spring, PA) and Matthew Pulgini (Middletown, DE). 

In her first event on the PJT, Nina Kouchi (New Hope, PA) placed 1st in the Girls 13-15 Division with a round of 80 (+8).  One highlight to mention on Kouchi’s round was the lone birdie she had on the par 4, 12th. 
 
Molly Holbert (Mechanicsburg, PA) took home 1st place honors in the Girls 16-18 Division with a round of 83 (+11).  This was Holbert’s first career win on the PJT.  Grace Stillman (Lititz, PA) posted a 90 (+18) on her day for 2nd place.  Alexis Wyandt (Dallas, PA) carded a round of 92 (+20) to finish in 3rd.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 ABBOTTSTOWN — York Catholic senior Andrew Forjan knew he faced a tall task if he wanted to capture the York County Junior Golf Association George Barton Match Play Championship. Over the course of Monday and Tuesday, the top 16 boys' golfers in the YCJGA point standings would need to tackle four rounds of match play in order to be crowned the champion. The long days, coupled with searing heat and humidity, meant the champion wouldn't so much be a winner as he'd be a survivor.
    On Tuesday, that survivor was Forjan, who outlasted a late comeback by Eastern York senior Zach Dixon to force an extra hole, winning in 19 holes to capture the match-play title at Hanover Country Club. On the girls' side, Eastern York's Alexandra Lowder held off Susquehannock's Kendel Abrams, 1 up, to win the girls' trophy.
    "It's a little bit relieving after my finish that last round because I definitely doubted myself for a second," Forjan said. "I definitely played well enough to get here and get to where I was and I'm just really happy I won it."

  • Andrew Forjan Leads York Catholic

    Andrew Forjan fired a 1-under-par 70 at Mountainview Golf Course near Fairfield to lead York Catholic to another York-Adams Division III golf victory on Monday.Dimitri Amalfitano added a 73 for the Fighting Irish, which finished with a 311 total, which was 26 shots better than second-place York Tech.York Catholic improved to 15-0-0 on the season, while second-place York Tech moved to 12-3-0.The only other golfers to break 80 on the day were Delone Catholic's Jacob Mueller and York Tech's Abe Miller.

  • Powderly & Forjan finished 1st & 2nd.

     Hershey, PA – A cloudy start turned into a beautiful July afternoon as 48 elite members of the Philadelphia Junior Tour headed back out on the East course for the final round of the two day series at Hershey Country Club on July 9, 2015.  The beautiful par 71, 6,446/5,753 yard layout proved to be the perfect setting for the fantastic golf played at the sweetest place on earth.In the Boys 13-18 Division, it was Liam Powderly (Cockeysville, MD) held strong to his first round lead and recorded another 74 (+3) to secure his fourth victory of the 2015 season.  Powderly’s steady playing and a one-over front nine during the second round guided Powderly to a 74-74 -148 (+6) finish. Andrew Forjan (York, PA) finished two shots behind Powderly at 77-73 -150 (+8). Fueled by two birdies, Forjan recorded the low round of the second day with a 73 (+2). William Mitchell (Moorestown, NJ) completed the top three with rounds of 77-76 -153 (+11).

  • Congratulations to JD Dornes & David Denlinger

    JD Dornes scores 14 under Par and finished tied for 2nd, David Delinger scored 13 under par and finished 4th, and my son Mark scored 73-70-66 5 under and finished in the top 20, scores were the lowest in State history the tournament was won by Greg Jarmas with a score of 16 under par.

    Senior Showcase in Las Vegas,  Nevada The final AJGA Junior National Tournament,  Large field for both Boys and Girls.   Students Campbell Wolf tied for 5th and Molly Holbert both from Mechanicsburg , PA.       Congratulations on your outstanding play.

    Hi Ted-
    Molly played great yesterday at Hershey invite -helped her team beat the field including Cumberland Valley .  She was low score with 70.  Playing in mid Penn today
    Also Molly shot 76 on Monday at the Mid Penn's. in the Boys division.  Hitting the ball very well.
